Feeding San Diego will host its annual Pairings with a Purpose, a fundraiser featuring more than 35 chefs and breweries, this Saturday.
The event, which will take place from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., brings together the region’s finest chefs, breweries and wineries in the fight against hunger.
Each chef and beverage duo will collaborate to create a special pairing of food with one of the drinks including Chef Javier Plascencia, Chad White and this season’s winner of Top Chef, Jeremy Ford. Guests can vote on their favorite pairing while enjoying music, games and contests. The fundraiser will be hosted on Saturday, April 15 at Bobby Riggs Tennis Club & Museum in scenic Encinitas.
Currently, nearly half a million San Diego residents, including 1 in 5 children, are struggling with hunger. Feeding San Diego is working to meet their immediate needs, while creating a long-term impact in the community through a comprehensive approach to hunger-relief.
General admission tickets are $75.
Red Bull Air Race
Head down to San Diego Bay for the return of the Red Bull Air Race. The event, which takes place Saturday and Sunday, 14 pilots as they race through the air. The exciting sporting event is thrilling for all ages. Tickets start at $20.
Wanderlust
Need a mental break this weekend? Wanderlust might just be for you. The event, which takes place at Liberty Staton on Saturday, features a 5K run, yoga and a group meditation. Attendees can also expect a market to shop vendors promoting peace and self-awareness.
“Moana” Movie Night
Dive into Hilton San Diego Bayfront for a movie night by the pool. The hotel is screening the Disney favorite “Moana,” which tells the story of a girl determined to save others, at 7 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
