Arts lovers can sample San Diego’s diverse performing arts community — from theater to dance to music — with discounts of up to 50 percent at the second annual Theatre Week.

Nearly 40 organizations are participating in the event from Sunday, Feb. 26, through Sunday, March 5. If an organization does not have a program during the week, it will have special offers for future events.

“Just as Restaurant Week is a week for foodies to explore new culinary options while saving money, Theatre Week offers audience members the opportunity to discover new theater companies and unforgettable arts experiences,” said D. Candis Paule, president of the San Diego Performing Arts League.

Among the organizations participating are Cygnet Theatre, Diversionary Theatre, Intrepid Theatre Company, J Company, La Jolla Playhouse, Lamb’s Players Theatre, Mainly Mozart, National Comedy Theatre, New Village Arts, NorthCoast Repertory Theatre, Old Globe Theatre, Poway OnStage, San Diego Musical Theatre and San Diego Repertory Theatre.

“Theatre Week is fast becoming an iconic annual event in San Diego. La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to join with nearly 40 other local organizations to participate in this special week that encourages local audiences to explore the many world-class theater offerings right in their own backyard,” said Michael S. Rosenberg, managing director of the playhouse.

Tickets for all performances are available through the San Diego Theatre Week website through March 5.
