Jazz and soul artist Poncho Sanchez will headline the free Imperial Avenue Street Festival, which is expected to draw a crowd of more than 10,000 Saturday to the historic San Diego neighborhood.

The festival, a blend of art and music, takes place from noon to 9 p.m. between 28th Street and 30th Street.

Attendees will be able to browse four blocks of local artists and crafts while sampling the wide variety of food in the neighborhood, from Colombian to Cajun.

Local San Diego bands will perform throughout the day, and headliner Sanchez will take the main state at 7:30 p.m.

New this year, there will be a kid’s zone with performers, rides and games to entertain the smallest of festival attendees.

The event is hosted by BAME Renaissance Community Development Corporation, a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen residents and businesses in Greater Logan Heights area.
