The 27th annual Museum Month in San Diego kicks off next month where participants can get half-off admission to more than 40 museums.
The annual event, hosted by Macy’s, includes top attractions such as Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego, Museum of Photographic Arts, LUX Art Institute, San Diego Museum of Art and Oceanside Museum of Art.
“Many of our member museums make February the hallmark for new exhibition launches that coincide beautifully with Macy’s Museum Month,” said Theresa Kosen, executive director of San Diego Museum Council. “We’re thrilled to see such a phenomenal landscape of cultural opportunities for locals and visitors to enjoy.
Macy’s Museum Month was created in 1989 to promote awareness of the region’s museums, historical sites, educational institutions, and cultural offerings. This month-long promotion has grown to become a cultural tradition unrivaled in the United States.
Free Museum Month passes may be picked up at any of Macy’s 15 locations in the San Diego area, including Temecula and Imperial Valley.
