The Second City, an improv comedy troupe, is making an encore appearance in San Diego with a new holiday show, La Jolla Playhouse announced Friday.
Following the enormously-successful run last summer of its original San Diego-centric show, “The Good, the Bad and the I-5,” The Second City will return with “The Second City’s Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue,” to run Nov. 28 – Dec. 21, 2014 in the Mandell Weiss Forum.
“The last time The Second City came to the Playhouse, they roasted San Diego so thoroughly that our mayor resigned at the end of the run,” La Jolla Playhouse Artistic Director Christopher Ashley said jokingly. “With ‘The Second City’s Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue,’ this legendary company returns to unleash their inimitable brand of satirical humor on the holiday season.”
This show claims to capture all the magic, mystery and mayhem of the season with original songs, sketches and improv.
Tickets for “The Second City’s Nut-Cracking Holiday Revue” are available only with a subscription purchase by calling the Playhouse’s Patron Services Department at (858) 550-1010 or online at visiting LaJollaPlayhouse.org.
