The San Diego State baseball team won its third game in a row with a 5-3 victory over San Jose State in 12 innings Saturday at San Jose State.

Chase Calabuig doubled in Alan Trejo to take the lead in the 12th inning and then Danny Sheehan singled in Calabuig for the insurance run. Right-hander C.J. Saylor threw a scoreless 1 2/3 innings to close out the game.

Calabuig hit a two-run homer in the third to open the scoring, and after San Jose State tacked on a run in the sixth, Tyler Adkison belted a solo shot in the eighth. San Jose State went on to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning, scoring on a balk and wild pitch.

The Aztecs won their second in a row over San Jose State after beating UCLA in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

SDSU is now within 3.5 games of Mountain West leader New Mexico with six Mountain West games left in the season. The team has a three-game set at Air Force and a three-game home series against Fresno State to close out the season. The Aztecs also close out their series against San Jose State on Sunday at 1:40 p.m.
