National Weather Service forecasters in San Diego are predicting two full days of rain beginning Sunday night.
The latest rain won’t be as bad as the back-to-back storms in January, but coastal areas will still get up to a half an inch, with more in the mountains.
“Rain rates will be low with no significant flooding or winter weather expected, ” the weather service said.
The rain will be accompanied by gusty winds in the mountains and desert slopes, with gusts up to 50 mph. Snow is expected above 7,500 feet.
On Friday Mayor Kevin Faulconer declared a local state of emergency for San Diego to tap potentially millions of dollars in disaster aid after the storms in January felled trees and caused flooding.
