A 19-year-old man was killed early Tuesday after being stabbed in a grocery store parking lot in Point Loma neighborhood, and his older brother has been arrested in connection with the killing, authorities said.

Officers responded just after midnight Monday to multiple reports of a stabbing in the Barons Market parking lot in the 4000 block of West Point Loma Boulevard, according to the San Diego Police Department.

Responding officers and medics found the unconscious victim and performed life-saving measures. He was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His name was withheld until family can be notified.

Investigators identified the suspect as the victim’s 29-year-old brother, Charles Fluker. Officers arrested Fluker at his home in the 2700 block of Ulric Street at about 4:40 a.m. Tuesday.

The department’s Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Fluker was expected to be booked into county jail on suspicion of homicide following an interview with detectives.

Authorities urged anyone with information about the fatal stabbing to call the SDPD Homicide Unit at 619-531-2293 or San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
