Carlsbad Mayor Matt Hall apologized to citizens this week over the failed strawberry fields development project.
Hall told a crowd during a City Council meeting: “If an apology is what it takes to bring us together, I would say it a thousand times,” according to a San Diego Union-Tribune article.
Hall was apologetic over a proposed development project that called for a Nordstrom-anchored mall adjacent to the fame strawberry fields. The City Council approved the project but it was rejected by voters last month after a citizens group put the decision up for a special election.
No other council member commented on the issue during the meeting, according to the article.
