
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County dropped three-tenths of a cent today to $4.675.
The average price is two-tenths of a cent less than one week ago, 11.5 cents less than one month ago and 56.8 cents less than one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It has dropped $1.76 since rising to a record $6.435 on Oct. 5, 2022.
The national average price dropped 1.2 cents to $3.421. It is 2.9 cents less than one week ago, 9.1 cents less than one month ago and 45.4 cents less than one year ago. The national average price has dropped $1.595 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14, 2022.
“Summer is wrapping up soon, and so far, gas prices have barely wobbled,” said Andrew Gross, an AAA national public relations manager. “But we still have a long way to go with hurricane season, so it’s too soon to declare that pump prices have started their usual autumn swoon.”
