Authorities have publicly identified a 66-year-old man who was fatally struck by a car last week while riding a bicycle alongside the 805 near Otay Valley Regional Park.
Victor Fields of San Diego was riding on the shoulder on the southbound side of the 805 when he was struck.
He was on the Palm Avenue offramp when a Toyota sedan swerved for unknown reasons and hit him shortly after 7:30 p.m. on May 29, according to the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Fields died at the scene of the crash, the agency reported. The incident is being investigated as an accident.
