Police are offering a $1,000 reward and seeking the public’s help in identifying who is responsible for the fatal shooting of a 47-year-old man in downtown San Diego’s East Village neighborhood.

Officers were flagged down about 4:40 p.m. Saturday by two people in the 1500 block of J Street and found the victim suffering a gunshot wound to his head, said Lt. Paul Rorrison of the San Diego Police Department’s homicide unit.

Duane Wicker, who was riding a bicycle when he was shot, was taken to UCSD Medical Center in grave condition and died Sunday night.
