Temperatures will remain below normal in San Diego County until Wednesday with a deep marine layer and the possibility of morning drizzle, the National Weather Service said Sunday.
Forecasters predicted a moderate chance for drizzle in the coastal basin early Monday and early Tuesday. Monday will also likely be the coolest and breeziest day of the week.
Temperatures are expected to spike back to near average for inland areas Wednesday, a jump of nearly 8-12 degrees. That corresponds to highs in the mid- to upper 70s along the coast, low- to mid-80s inland, mid-to-upper 70s in the mountains and mid-to-upper 90s in the deserts Wednesday through Friday.
Models are beginning to show the development of a tropical cyclone south of Baja late this week that could impact weather in San Diego, the NWS said.
