Exhibitions on stem cells and the intersection of art and science are scheduled to open to the public this Saturday at the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center.
The stem cell exhibit includes contributions by the Salk Institute for Biological Studies, UC San Diego, The Scripps Research Institute and the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute.
“Super Cells” was developed through a partnership with the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, and will be on display in the main gallery.
The other exhibit is the Art of Science Learning, which showcases the work of more than 100 scientists, artists, educators and citizens in the San Diego region that address the challenge of water.
The Art of Science Learning Fellows, as they came to be known, spent one year using the arts to learn the innovation process, and collaborated with local artists, scientists and educators to explore the water challenge and develop solutions.
The exhibition is the culmination of their work. It will be open in the theater lobby. Both exhibitions will be on display until May 1.
General admission is $19.95 for guests 13 years old and up, $17.95 for those 65 and up, and $16.95 for children 3-12.
