San Diego Wave FC announced Thursday it acquired Colombian defender Daniela Arias in a two-year deal through the 2026 season.
Arias will transfer from Corinthians Femenino, a Brazil-based team, pending confirmation of her visa.
“Daniela is a proven talent with strong defensive instincts and a winning mentality,” said Wave director and general manager Camille Ashton. “Her experience and presence on the backline will be a great asset to our team, and we’re excited to welcome her to San Diego.”

The 30-year-old competed in Brazil’s top women’s league, Brasileirão Feminino A1, for the last year, winning Defender of the Year honors and helping Corinthians secure three trophies: the 2024 Brasileirão National Championship, 2024 Copa Libertadores and the 2024 Supercopa do Brasil de Futebol Feminino.
Prior to her time in Brazil, Arias played with América de Cali and Colombia’s Liga Femenina. She spent part of 2022 with Club Pachuca in Mexico’s Liga MX Femenil.
Arias played a key role in the growth of the Colombian Women’s national team since making her debut in 2018, earning over 50 caps, and playing in the 2024 Paris Olympics and 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup. In the 2019 Pan American Games, she helped Colombia secure a gold medal.
Arias’ contract includes an option for extension into 2027 if both parties agree.
