Fresh off a road win at Cal State Fullerton, the SDSU women’s basketball team will now gear up to face Stephen F. Austin on Thursday, followed by a matchup against Hawaii before Mountain West play begins.
The Aztecs have come out strong to begin their season, ranking second in the conference in total offense and first in total defense.
Among all Mountain West players, Khylee Pepe and Nat Martinez rank first and third in free throw percentage, respectively, and Cali Clark ranks third in both rebounds and blocks per-game. While the Aztecs don’t have highly-ranked players in points per-game, the overall performance from the entire team has helped them win 10 of their first 11 games.
The Aztecs will have had a full week of rest in between games, while Stephen F. Austin last played on Saturday. The Ladyjacks have started 8-2, with losses only to Texas Tech and UT Rio Grande Valley.
SDSU’s first conference game is on Dec. 29 against Boise State at 1 p.m. PST.
