The San Diego State football team hosts Hawaii in its first conference game of the season Saturday, as the Aztecs look to stop a three game losing streak.
Following a season-opening win over Texas A&M-Commerce, the Aztecs suffered two consecutive blowout losses to Oregon State and California.
The Aztecs third game was much closer, one they led almost the entire second half over Central Michigan, however SDSU would fall late in the fourth quarter on a game winning field goal from Central Michigan.
“Obviously, it’s not the result that we’re looking for,” said head coach Sean Lewis during a press conference Monday. “We got a great opportunity to be back home this week against a very dangerous Hawaii team that does a really good job throwing the ball all over the yard.”
The Rainbow Warriors are 2-2 on the season, scoring over 30 points in all but one game thus far. While Hawaii is coming off a bye, quarterback Brayden Schager’s most recent game was a win over Northern Iowa where he threw for 374 yards and four touchdowns.
Saturday’s game against Hawaii is scheduled to kick off at 5:00 p.m. PST.
