It’s the place where the sports of baseball and golf collide: The Links at Petco Park is returning for its tenth anniversary in a celebration of golf, where golfers have the opportunity to take shots onto the playing field from various tees within the ballpark.
The Links is a nine-day event from Nov. 22 through Dec. 1, hosted by the San Diego Padres during their off season. It will feature a new, expanded course consisting of ten holes inspired by golf courses around the world.
From the northern and southern California coastlines, to the floral fairways of Georgia, with a stop in the Arizona desert, and then a trip to where golf originated in Scotland, each shade of green will be replicated in these world-renowned courses.
Tee boxes will be stationed at signature locations in the ballpark, including the home plate and upper deck. The event is presented by Lexus.
All equipment and golf clubs will be provided by the Padres’ longtime partner Callaway, with golfers having the chance to try out the company’s latest technology.
The Padres will include a “Peter Seidler Legacy Hole” in honor of the late Padres owner and chairman, featuring a heart-shaped green with letters “PS” in the center. Limited-edition Callaway golf balls with the “PS” logo will be available for purchase.
Golfers will be escorted by their own dedicated caddy for the entirety of the course. Upon completion of their round, golfers will finish their day in the Lexus Premier Club, which will be transformed into The Link Clubhouse, where they will have the opportunity to relax, buy food and drinks, watch golfers, and shop.
“10 years ago, the Padres and Callaway partnered to create The Links at Petco Park as the first-of-its-kind in-stadium golf experience that has continued to grow year after year,” said Padres chief executive officer Erik Greupner.
“We are excited to commemorate this anniversary by bringing elements of some of the world’s best golf courses and an authentic golf experience to America’s number one ballpark for a special rendition of this iconic event.”
To book tee times, Padres season ticket members will have access to a premium and preferred tee time presale starting on Sept. 11 and 13 at 10 a.m. On-deck waitlist members will have access at 12 p.m., and the general public at 2 p.m. on each of those days. Entries may be purchased in groups of two and four with tee times beginning at 7 a.m. each day and running through the evening.
