New Zealand and Fiji will play in an exhibition match Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Snapdragon Stadium, home of the San Diego State football team. The match is part of the 2024 Steinlager Ultra Low Carb Series.
New Zealand has played two matches already this summer, both against England. The All Blacks won 16-15 on July 6 in Dunedin, followed by a 24-17 win a week later on July 13 in Auckland.
Friday will be the first international friendly match for Fiji this summer.
The July match will be the first meeting between the two teams in North America. Both New Zealand and Fiji rank among the top 10 rugby teams worldwide, with the All Blacks ranking third, and the Water Flying Fijians ranking tenth.
New Zealand has not played a match in the United States since 2021.
The United States will host the 2031 and 2033 iterations of the men’s and women’s Rugby World Cups.
