The University of San Diego saw its 10-game win streak end Friday at the NCAA Regionals in Santa Barbara, in a 5-4 loss to Oregon in extra innings.

The Toreros (40-14, 20-4 WCC) had their chances in the bottom of the 11th inning after a home run by Bryce Boettcher off Calvin Schapira gave the Ducks a one-run lead.

Justin Decriscio led off USD’s half of the frame with a double, and with one out Will Worthington was hit by a pitch. But Angelo Peraza struck out swinging and Ariel Armas popped out, leaving WCC Player of the Year Jakob Christian in the on-deck circle.

Down 4-1 in the eighth, they already had forged a comeback, clawing back with three runs to tie it up and force extras.

Peraza and Armas began that rally with a walk and a single, setting up Christian, who met the challenge, hitting a three-run homer to right.

USD, seeded No. 2 at the regional, now shifts to the loser’s side of the bracket. The team will play Fresno State – which fell to UC Santa Barbara late Friday – at 1 p.m. Saturday, in an elimination game.

Third-seed Oregon (38-18, 19-11 PAC-12) takes on UCSB at 7 p.m. Saturday, a game that will earn the victor a slot in the regional final.
