
San Diego State‘s Jaedon LeDee made the East All-Region Team for his play in the NCAA Tournament.
He joined three UConn players, Donovan Clingan, Cam Spencer and Stephon Castle, on the team, along with Illinois’ Terrence Shannon Jr. Clingan was named Most Outstanding Player in the region after his team moved onto the Final Four Saturday.
LeDee in three games during SDSU’s Sweet 16 run, scored 32 points with eight rebounds in a win over UAB; 26 points and nine rebounds in a rout of Yale, and 18 points and eight rebounds when UConn ended the Aztecs’ March Madness hopes.
The senior forward has collected a series of honors in a final season in which he led
SDSU in points – placing fourth in the nation – and points per game. His point total ranks fifth for the program in a single-season and his points per game ranks fourth.
He was also the Mountain West scoring leader and part of the all-conference first team. also placed third in the MW in rebounds (8.39) – and second in offensive rebounds (3.36) – and third in field-goal percentage (56%).
He has been named a finalist for the 2024 Lute Olson National Player of the Year, presented annually to the top player in Division I college basketball.
The two-time conference Player of the Week was named a finalist for the Karl Malone Award, for the top power forward in the nation, and is included on the John R. Wooden Award ballot for national Player of the Year.
The Houston native also garnered several All-American honors – second-team from the Sporting News and Field of 68, third team from the Associated Press and honorable mention from the United States Basketball Writers Association.
