San Pasqual High School‘s Andrew Clark has been named the 2024 CIF San Diego Section Athletic Director of the Year.
Clark, a San Pasqual graduate and former athlete, is in his 15th year as athletic director and in his 25th year coaching football.
“San Pasqual is a special place where we’re lucky to have great people who care about the experience of our student athletes,” Clark said. “I’m truly lucky to get to serve the community I grew up in, and the San Diego CIF Section as a whole, in supporting education‐based athletics.”
He added, “knowing how many exemplary leaders work throughout our section to provide athletic opportunities for students, I’m humbled and grateful to have been honored with this award.”
Since taking on the athletic director role, campus participation in sports has grown to include over 900 of the nearly 1,900 San Pasqual students, with more than 100 coaches in the department.
Clark also has been active with three CIF San Diego Section efforts, the Coordinating Council and the Leaguing Committee, to shape policies and practices that affect student athletes across the region. As a leading figure on the North County Conference Re‐Leaguing Committee, he has been instrumental in developing protocols that ensure fair and competitive play among the 23 member schools.
“His dedication to San Pasqual High and the broader athletic community is unparallelled. His ability to communicate effectively, navigate challenges and foster a nurturing environment for our student athletes has left an indelible mark on our schools,” said Principal Cory Gregory. As I reflect on the past 15 years, I am profoundly grateful for Andrew’s leadership, vision, and friendship.”
Clark holds a bachelor’s degree in English from San Diego State University and a master’s degree in athletic administration from Concordia University.
San Pasqual is part of the Escondido Union High School District.
