San Diego State’s Jaedon LeDee is one of 40 Division I players on the U.S. Basketball Writers Association’s final Oscar Robertson Trophy and All-America Watch Lists.

The players nominated for the trophy, which recognizes the national player of the year, and All-America consideration will be placed on the association’s annual awards ballot.

The ballot also includes the Wayman Tisdale National Freshman Player of the Year Award, the Henry Iba National Coach of the Year Award and the 15-player All-America teams.

Members will have until March 10 to vote for all the honors which are based on regular-season performance.

Most winners will be announced before the start of the men’s NCAA Tournament, but the recipient of the Oscar Robertson Trophy will be announced at the Final Four in Glendale, Ariz.

A senior out of Houston, LeDee is one of 10 players who have been recognized twice this year on the Oscar Robertson Player of the Week Team.

Great Osobor of Utah State was the only other player in the Mountain West who made the lists. See the USBWA for the full list.

LeDee entered the week leading No. 20 San Diego State in points (555) and points per game (20.6). His points mark ranks 12th for the program in a single-season and his per-game average ranks fourth. In addition, he tops the squad in minutes (868) as well as offensive (82), defensive (141) and total rebounds (223). He is second in steals (33) and blocks (16).

On a national level, the 6-9, 240-pound forward started the week ranked 12th in free throws, 19th in points per game and 24th in points.

LeDee put the nation on notice in the second week of the season, when in three games, concluding at the Continental Tire Main Event, he averaged 28.7 points, 12 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 2.0 steals. In the three games, he shot 57.1% from the floor.

For his efforts, he was named the Continental Tire Main Event Most Valuable Player, then chosen as ESPN National Player of the Week as well as Lute Olson and NCAA March Madness Player of the Week, along with garnering his first Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week honor.

LeDee has scored in double figures in each of his 27 appearances this year and has totaled 10 double doubles, the first Aztec to record achieve the feat 10 times or more since Jalen McDaniels in 2018-19.

A two-time conference Player of the Week, he has been included on the John R. Wooden Award Mid-Season and Late Season Watch Lists and is a member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame’s Top 10 for the Karl Malone Award, handed to the top power forward.

The Aztecs have two more games in the regular season – Tuesday at UNLV and March 8 against Boise State at Viejas Arena.
