The Padres have unveiled the roster, filled with local sports stars, for the inaugural San Diego Celebrity Softball game, set to take place next month as part of FanFest.

The March 24 game, the finale of FanFest at Petco Park, takes place four days before the Padres’ home opener against the Giants. Free FanFest tickets become available Friday for the public to claim online.

Participants include stars with local ties, like retired quarterback Drew Brees, whose New Orleans Saints won the 2010 Super Bowl, and those playing for San Diego teams, including the San Diego Wave’s Alex Morgan, a two-time member of U.S. teams that won titles at the Women’s World Cup.

The Saints will have a presence, with Rashid Shaheed, a 2023 All-Pro, and Rancho Peñasquitos native Chris Olave, a first-round draft pick of the Saints and member of the 2022 NFL All-Rookie Team, who hails from San Ysidro.

Others slated to play include Poway native Kelsey Plum, part of the Las Vegas Aces, winners of the 2022 and 2023 WNBA Finals, Rey Mysterio, a 2023 WWE Hall of Fame inductee, Encinitas native Rob Machado, the three-time US Open of Surfing champion and member of the Surfers’ Hall of Fame, and Tijuana native Brandon Moreno, two-time UFC flyweight champion.

On the entertainment side, participants include Ocean Beach native Miles Doughty, founding member of Slightly Stoopid, Scheana Marie, of the TV Series “Vanderpump Rules,” Zeth & Saylor, father and daughter social media personalities, and two San Diegans connected to “Saturday Night Live,” Scripps Ranch natives Dave McCary and Kyle Mooney.

Other FanFest events include autograph sessions with Padre players and alumni and the grand opening of the renovated Gallagher Square.
