San Diego will be well represented in one of the Women’s World Cup two final games.

San Diego Wave FC teammates Sofia Jakobsson and Emily van Egmond will face each other early Saturday in the race for third place at the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The forward and midfielder, part of the Swedish and Australian teams, respectively, play at 1 a.m. PT from Brisbane Stadium.

England meets Spain in the World Cup final the following day at 3 a.m. PT from Stadium Australia in Sydney.

The Wave’s van Egmond and the Australian women’s national team fell to England 3-1 on Wednesday.

England struck first in the 36th minute thanks to Ella Toone. In the second half, in the 63rd minute, Australian captain Sam Kerr, in her first start in a match of the tournament, scored a goal from distance to level the match.

England sealed the match with two more goals in the 71st and 86th minutes from Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo for a final score of 3-1.

With a 2-1 victory over Sweden Tuesday, Spain reached the World Cup final for the first time.

Both sides struggled to get on the board until the late minutes of the match, though Sweden forced the Spain keeper to make several saves throughout. But in the 81st minute Salma Paralluelo came off the bench for Spain and scored on the team’s first shot on goal of the match.

Sweden leveled in the 88th minute with a header from Rebecka Blomqvist, her third goal of the tournament. A little over a minute later, Spain’s Olga Carmona scored the game-winner, ricocheting the ball off the bottom of the cross bar and into the net.

Jakobsson has recorded two assists during the World Cup, as well as recording Sweden’s only shot on goal against the U.S. in the Round of 16.

Van Egmond has scored one goal and recorded one assist in four starts.
