San Diego State, in conjunction with the Mountain West, has released the men’s basketball broadcast and non-conference schedules for the 2019-20 season.
Highlights include facing either Texas Tech, runner-up to Virginia in last year’s NCAA Tournament, or Iowa, a No. 10 seed in the tournament.
The Aztecs are set to play on CBS Sports Network 10 times, on ESPN networks four times, and on STADIUM three times. In addition, SDSU will be on FS1 twice and the Pac-12 Network once.
The non-conference schedule kicks off with an exhibition against UC San Diego on Oct. 30.
The regular season begins against Texas Southern on Nov. 5, with a road game to follow Nov. 9 at Brigham Young.
SDSU returns home against Grand Canyon on Nov. 13 and the University of San Diego on Nov. 20.
Aztecs’ special events this season include competing in the Continental Tires Las Vegas Invitational. They open up against Creighton on Nov. 28, then face one of the NCAA Tournament teams – Texas Tech or Iowa.
In addition, on Dec. 21, San Diego State makes its first appearance in the Staples Center in Los Angeles as part of the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic. The two-game event features SDSU playing Utah in the opener.
The Aztecs return six of their top scorers off a team that posted a 21-13 record and advanced to the championship game of the 2019 Mountain West Conference tournament.
