Surf Cup Sports, which serves 1,000 local children in athletic programs, has partnered with NFL quarterback Drew Brees.
The former Charger resides in San Diego with his wife and four children. He has said it’s his goal “to impact the lives of kids through sport.
“I believe our impact and reach will extend well beyond our local community,” said Brees, quarterback for the New Orleans Saints.
Surf Cup Sports provides various services, including facility and event management and coaching. In addition to the local children, there are 15,000 youngsters in the company’s programs nationwide.
“Drew’s involvement will help continue to grow the Surf brand to be synonymous with opportunities for youth sports development here in San Diego and nationwide,” said company CEO Brian Enge.
Brees, an investor in Surf Cup Sports, also serves as a board member and part of the leadership team. He joined with the company when he was seeking sites for his own Football ‘n’ America, a co-ed flag football program, according to the Del Mar Times.
For more than 42 years, the firm, which has facilities in Del Mar and Oceanside, has been a top organization in youth soccer.
