
UC San Diego center Chanel Schilling has been named Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches Division II Player of the Year and head coach Brad Kreutzkamp received Coach of the Year honors, as the All-America Teams were announced last week.
Sophomore goalkeeper Bennett Bugelli and sophomore center Ciara Franke join Schilling on the All-America First Team, while sophomores Grace Pevehouse and Taylor Onstott landed on the All-America Second Team.
Schilling, a three-time All-American, finished the season with 38 total points on 36 goals with two assists. The senior from Newport Beach also was named Western Water Polo Association co-Player of the Year.
Bugelli and Franke joined Schilling as All-WWPA First-Team selections.
Meanwhile, Kreutzkamp received the Coach of the Year honor for the fifth time in 10 seasons. He also was named WWPA co-Coach of the Year and has a career record of 222-154.
UC San Diego (22-14) is coming off its seventh-consecutive WWPA Championship en route to advancing to the National Collegiate Water Polo Championship Quarterfinals. The Tritons will compete in their first season as a member of the Big West Conference in the spring of 2020.
