Hayden Hui of the University of California San Diego has been named to the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA)/PING All-West Region Team for NCAA Division II.
A junior, Hui holds a team-best 72.4 stroke average and has been UC San Diego’s top finisher in 10 of 12 tournaments season. Most recently, Hui placed second at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional, pacing the Tritons to a second-place showing and a berth in the upcoming NCAA Championships.
“I am very honored to have been named to the GCAA/PING All-West Region team,” said Hui, who hails from Dublin, Calif. “It is a great accomplishment and I am looking forward to helping the team continue its success at Nationals this week!”
Also this week, Hui was named a Google Cloud Academic All-District At-Large selection as a Structural Engineering major with a 3.55 GPA. In addition, he was recognized as a member of the All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) First Team this season.
UC San Diego is currently in West Virginia for the NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championships, which run May 20-24 at Glade Springs Resort in Daniels. It is the Tritons’ second appearance in the NCAA Division II Championships as they qualified in 2004 and placed 15th of 20 squads.
