The University of California San Diego will host the California Collegiate Athletic Association Track and Field Championships this week, May 2-4, at Triton Track and Field Stadium.

The meet will determine individual conference champions for 22 events, in addition to the overall men’s and women’s team champions.

The UC San Diego men’s team is coming off a second-place finish in the 2018 CCAA Championships, while the women’s team placed fourth. The Triton men are currently ranked No. 22 in last week’s latest USTFCCCA National Track & Field Rating Index, with the women ranked one spot higher at No. 21.

The Tritons won seven individual titles at last season’s conference meet, including first-place finishes by returning senior Matt Bowen in both the long jump and triple jump, as well as returning senior Natalie Caraway in the high jump.

This week’s action begins with the decathlon and heptathlon events on Thursday, May 2, starting at 10 a.m. Field and running events begin on Friday, May 3, with the final heats for the majority of events set to take place on Saturday, May 4.

General admission tickets for adults are $10; children (3-12), seniors (65+) and visiting college students with a valid ID are $5.
