All nine Mountain West teams participated in the 54-hole championship, and for the second consecutive year the Mountain West had six teams ranked in GolfStat’s Top 100 entering the conference championship, with San Diego State ranked number 43. Only San Jose State was ranked higher at 27.
Prior to 2019, the Aztecs had produced the past two individual champions in Fernanda Escauriza (2017) and Milagros Chaves (2018).
Escauriza, now in her junior year, took fourth this year in the individual competition.
