The San Diego Padres will conduct Military Opening Day and their first KidsFest of the 2019 season at Sunday’s game against the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park.

Pregame ceremonies will include the U.S. Navy Parachute team, the Leap Frogs, landing on the field, a flyover by four F-18 Super Hornets from the VFA-154 Black Knights, stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore, and more than 100 service members representing all branches of the armed services lining the base paths.

The Ceremonial Bell will be rung by U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Nicholas Shumway of the San Diego Recruiting Company. The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by retired U.S. Navy Capt. Jack Ensch, the Padres first director of military affairs.

Nine active duty service members will join the Padres starting lineup at their positions as part of “Military Takes the Field.”

The national anthem will be sung by U.S. Coast Guard Petty Officer 2nd Class Mike Dalager, who will also perform “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch.

The Padres will wear their navy digital camouflage jerseys.

KidsFest will begin at 10:30 a.m. with activities including bounce houses, inflatables, games, face painting and balloon artists.

Two Padres players will sign autographs at the park. A Compadres Kids membership is required to participate in the signings. Membership is free and available on-site.

Children 14 and under will be able to run the bases on the field after the game.
