University of California San Diego junior forward Mikayla Williams named California Collegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week, the conference announced.

Williams has won the award in two-consecutive weeks to begin the season, and has earned the accolade four times in her career.

The Meath Park, Sask., native averaged 20 points, 10 rebounds and four assists is two Triton victories at the Sodexo Classic in Seattle, Wash.

The junior forward posted a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds in a win over Western Washington on Nov. 16, and followed it up with 20 points, eight boards and four assists in a road test at Seattle Pacific on Nov. 17.

Williams shot a very efficient 7-for-10 from the field against Seattle Pacific, and made a combined 16-for-20 (80 percent) from the free-throw line over the weekend.

UC San Diego (4-0) has its home opener this weekend in the “new” renovated RIMAC Arena, beginning CCAA play against Chico State on Saturday, Nov. 24, at 5:30 p.m.

The Tritons are off to their best start since 2011-12, when they won 26-straight games to start the year and advanced to the NCAA West Region Final.
