Fans have congregated on Highland Avenue following recent games. Most celebrated peacefully, though some left the safety of sidewalks and parking lots and went into the street.

“Those types of actions are not only dangerous for fans but motorists who may have to maneuver around fans and other vehicles,” the National City Police Department said.

Mexico will face off against Sweden on Wednesday at 7 a.m. after beating South Korea 2-1 and Germany 1-0.
