Thousands took to the streets of San Diego for the 2018 Rock ‘n’ Roll marathon and half-marathon events, resulting in street closures across the central part of the city.
The two events kicked off at 6:15 a.m. west of Balboa Park. The marathon’s course snaked up to Normal Heights and back down through Balboa Park, while the marathon’s main course wound through Hillcrest and Linda Vista before also heading south down the west side of the park.
Both finish lines were in downtown San Diego.
Road closures were expected to be lifted on a rolling basis after the last runner passes through each area. The race ends at 2:30 p.m.
