Crossfit fans gathered at the Del Mar Fairgrounds on Friday for the first day of the California Regional.
The event brings together what organizers describe as the “fittest” people in the state to compete in various workouts. The California Regional is one of many regional competitions held throughout the world with the top five competitors in each competition going to the finals, also known as the Crossfit Games. The winners of the Crossfit Games are named the “fittest man or woman on Earth.”
The California Regional is expected to be held through Sunday in Del Mar.
