Antoine Laganiere opened the scoring 31 seconds into the game, the earliest the Gulls have scored this season. They were then held scoreless the next 59 minutes, 43 seconds before a crowd at AT&T Center announced at 7,033.
San Antonio tied the score 13:46 into the third period when center Alex Belzile put a rebound of a shot by left wing Troy Bourke past Tokarski for his fourth goal of the season.
The victory was the Gulls 12th in their last 15 games, 18th in their last 22 and 25th of their last 31.
Tokarski made 11 of his saves in the third period, improving to 6-0-0 in his seven appearances with a 2.38 GAA and .912 save percentage since returning to play on Feb. 12 following a lower-body injury.
Both teams were scoreless on three power-play opportunities
Goaltender Spencer Martin made 28 saves for the Rampage (24-32-5-1), the Colorado Rockies American Hockey League affiliate,
Kalle Kossila assisted on both goals for the Gulls (36-15-3-2), the Anaheim Ducks AHL affiliate.
The teams will meet again Saturday in San Antonio. The Gulls next game at Valley View Casino Center will be Wednesday against the San Jose Barracuda, the San Jose Sharks AHL affiliate.
