San Diego State Men’s Basketball started off their quest for a March Madness return right Friday, defeating the University of San Diego 69-59.

Sophomore Aztec guard Jeremy Hemsley led the way with 25 points, while junior guard Trey Kell added 23. Olin Carter of USD added a team-high 17 points for his squad.

The win for the Aztecs is a sort of revenge; last season, the Toreros stunned and defeated them at Petco Park.

USD faces off against Samford for its season opener Monday night, while SDSU heads to Washington to take on No.14 Gonzaga.
