Some 200 sailing yachts left San Diego on Monday for the colorful annual Baja Ha-Ha cruising rally to Cabo San Lucas.
Mexican Consul General Marcela Celori0 sent up the final starting signal for the event.
The yachts will take two weeks to sail the 750-mile distance, with stops at Bahia Tortugas and Bahia Santa Maria along the way.
“The goals of the Ha-Ha are simple: for everyone to get to Cabo safely while enjoying some great sailing and making countless new friends,” according to the event organizers.
The annual event, which began in 1994, is open to all boats over 27 feet that were designed, built and have been maintained for open ocean sailing.
