The San Diego Chargers lost to the Indianapolis Colts 26-22 on Sunday in a game that was riddled with penalties and missed opportunities.

“There are a number of plays you look at; missed opportunities through the entire game,” said Chargers Head Coach Mike McCoy after the game. “There were a number of opportunities we had, where we didn’t make the plays today.”

Contributing to the loss were 10 penalties and a failure to stop the Colts when they were driving late in the fourth quarter to secure a comeback.

Defensive Back Casey Hayward made his third interception of the year, but it wasn’t enough.

“It was a back-and-forth game.  (The offense) just couldn’t capitalize on the interception by Casey,” said Quarterback Philip Rivers. “We didn’t do anything with it and some of the layups that we missed.”

With the loss at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, the Chargers fall to 1-2 for the season.
