The San Diego Padres will open the 2017 season April 3 against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium and play their home opener April 7 against the San Francisco Giants.
This will be the fifth time in 10 years the Padres will face the Dodgers on opening day, including this season and in 2015.
The 81-game home schedule includes 10 interleague games — May 8-9 against the Texas Rangers; June 9-11 against the Kansas City Royals; June 23-25 against the Detroit Tigers, their opponent in the 1984 World Series; and Aug. 1- 2 against the Minnesota Twins.
