Thousands of Chargers fans got their first taste of the 2016 football season at Qualcomm as new players, the Charger Girls and Pokémon Go teamed up to entertain the faithful.
The 2016 Charger Girls donned Pikachu hats as they handed out Charger schedules. Young fans were treated to a Pokémon GO Meet-Up.
Former Chargers players including Luis Castillo, Stephen Cooper, Raylee Johnson, Darren Carrington, Billy Ray Smith and Ed White signed autographs.
Single-game tickets to all 10 home games recently went on sale.
The Chargers Training camp continues from 3 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 8 and 10. Thursday’s practice will be from 9:30 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. Practice continues from 3 to 5 p.m. on Aug. 15 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 16 which will be a joint practice with the Arizona Cardinals at Qualcomm Stadium. That is the final public practice.
The regular-season home opener will once again be a White Hot Sunday on Sept. 18 against the Jacksonville Jaguars. On Oct. 2, Bolts fans will see former Chargers quarterback Drew Brees for the first time when the New Orleans Saints come to San Diego. The Chargers will face the Denver Broncos in a nationally-televised Thursday Night Football game on Oct. 13.
November will bring in Tennessee Titans on Nov. 6 for the Chargers’ annual Hall of Fame & Alumni Weekend as well as the Miami Dolphins on Nov. 13. December features the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Dec. 4, followed by the Raiders on Dec. 18. The Chiefs come to San Diego for the season finale on Jan. 1.
