San Diego Padres pitcher Drew Pomeranz was named as a nember of the National League All-Star team on Saturday morning.

Pomeranz is replacing New York Mets pitcher Noah Syndegaard, who was ruled out of the Midsummer Classic because of arm fatigue.

In his first year with the Padres, Pomeranz boasts an 8-7 record with a team-best 2.47 ERA.

He is the second Padres player on the 2016 All-Star squad, joining breakout star first baseman Wil Myers.

It will be the first All-Star appearance for both players.

The game will take place at 5 p.m. on Tuesday at Petco Park.
