Over 400 of the nation’s top archers arrived in Chula Vista this week for the 2016 SoCal Showdown at the Easton Archery Center of Excellence.

The competition began Thursday morning and continues through Saturday, with gold medal finals occurring on Sunday at the annual San Diego County Fair in Del Mar.

Many seasoned archers competing are Olympians, World Cup Champions and U.S. National Team Members.

The preliminary competition days are free for spectators to attend and watch athletes go head to head, arrow for arrow, in their pursuit of the gold medal.

The Easton Archery Center in Chula Vista has one of the largest indoor archery ranges in the world and is used for training Olympic team members.
