This year’s Holiday Bowl will be played Dec. 27 and have an afternoon kickoff, while the Poinsettia Bowl is scheduled for Dec. 21, the organizers of San Diego’s two college football post-season games announced Wednesday.

Both contests will be at Qualcomm Stadium.

The 39th annual Holiday Bowl will begin at 4 p.m., matching schools from the Pac-12 and Big Ten conferences. The start time is the earliest in years.

The 12th annual Poinsettia Bowl will pit a representative of the Mountain West against Brigham Young, in the event the Cougars are bowl-eligible and aren’t selected for a prestigious New Year’s game.
