Defending Mountain West champion San Diego State will face two new opponents this fall — hosting University of New Hampshire on Sept. 3 and traveling to Northern Illinois University on Sept. 17.

San Diego’s Clayton Jimerson, who played on the offensive line for UNH last season, would be a 6-5, 273-pound sophomore in his Qualcomm homecoming.

Jimerson helped lead Madison High School to CIF section finals and was named to the Central League First Team, CIF First Team and All-State Second Team.

Also playing for the Wildcats is Rick Ellison, a 5-11, 194-pound defensive back from Santa Margarita Catholic High School in south Orange County.

SDSU’s other two nonconference opponents — University of California, Berkeley and University of South Alabama — both defeated the Aztecs last season.

USA upset the Aztecs at Qualcomm Stadium with a 34-27 overtime win, while Cal used a huge second half to beat the Aztecs 35-7 in Berkeley.

Both games will be the second installment of a home-and-home series, as the Bears will travel to San Diego, and the Jaguars will host SDSU.

In Mountain West play, the Aztecs will face the same 8 teams as in the 2015 season, in which they went undefeated in conference.

The season begins against New Hampshire on Sept. 3.
