In his latest NFL mock draft, ESPN’s Todd McShay has the San Diego Chargers drafting University of Oregon defensive end DeForest Buckner with the No.3 overall pick.

Buckner would be a big help to the Chargers’ defense that gave up 125.3 rush yards per game in 2015, and recorded only 32 sacks, good for 27th and 24th in the NFL, respectively.

In his senior season at Oregon, the 6’7″, 300-lb Buckner had 10.5 sacks in 13 starts, a stat line that would have given him a share of the Chargers’ lead with Melvin Ingram last season.

In his first two mock drafts, McShay had the Chargers selecting a pair of Ole Miss players in offensive lineman Laremy Tunsill, who is now projected to go 1st overall to the Tennessee Titans, and defensive end Robert Nkemdiche, who is projected to go 26th to the Seattle Seahawks.
