The San Diego Gulls rallied to tie the score from a two-goal first-period deficit, but allowed two more goals in the third period for a 4-2 loss to the Bakersfield Condors Wednesday at Valley View Casino Center.
Rob Klinkhammer scored his second goal of the game with three minutes, 38 seconds to play to break the tie. Matthew Ford added an empty-net goal with 18 seconds left for Bakersfield, the Edmonton Oilers American Hockey League affiliate.
Antoine Laganiere and Chris Muller scored second-period goals for the Gulls before a crowd announced at 5,543.
Condors defenseman Brad Hunt opened the scoring 54 seconds into the game. Klinkhammer gave Bakersfield (21-18-2-2) a 2-0 lead at 10:50 of the first period.
Condors goaltender Eetu Laurikainen made 28 saves. Gulls goaltender Anton Khudobin made 40.
