The San Diego Chargers placed offensive lineman Chris Watt on the season-ending injured-reserve Monday due to a shoulder injury.
The team activated offensive lineman Craig Watts from the practice squad to take Watt’s place. He was been a member of the team’s practice squad since 2014 after he was signed as an undrafted free agent out of West Texas A&M.
Watt was selected by the Chargers in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft out of Notre Dame, but has started just eight games in that span.
He was slated to be the team’s starting center this year but has only been able to start three games in 2015 due to the shoulder injury and a groin injury.

Trevor Robinson has started five games this season in relief of Watt and will most likely take over the role of starting center for the rest of 2015.
