The San Diego Gulls will conclude preseason play Monday night by facing the Ontario Reign at Anaheim’s Honda Center.

Tickets were free to the matchup of the American Hockey League affiliates of the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Kings and all 17,000 were downloaded from Ticketmaster within four days of being made available.

The two teams met in a preseason game Friday night at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, with the Gulls, the Ducks’ affiliate, winning 3-2 as Ondrej Kase scored the lone shootout goal.

The Gulls will begin practicing in San Diego Thursday and open their season Saturday night by facing the Grand Rapid Griffins, the Detroit Red Wings AHL affiliate, at the Valley View Casino Center.

The Gulls and Reign were among five AHL teams to move to California in the off-season to be closer to their parent teams to speed the arrivals of recalled players.
